What does iZandla mean and where does it come from?
The name iZandla means ‘hands’ in the isiZulu language. isiZulu is one of the 11 official languages in South Africa and is the most widely spoken home language out of them all.

The connotation of hands means handmade, which infers ‘made with love’.

It also often depicts handcrafted, giving the feeling of something ‘made with care’.

And in isiZulu there is the idiom: ‘izandla ziya gezana’ meaning in the literal sense of the words, ‘one hand washes the other’. The meaning however runs deeper, as in most things in the Zulu culture. iZandla ziya gezana actually means ‘we help each other’ and for me this is the essence of what we call ubuntu here, in Africa.
